ExperimentsAtSchool is designed for children ages 7 to 16. It aims to help them develop and improve their data handling and statistical skills.
On the website are a number of experiments for the children to do. Each experiment has associated downloadable teachers notes which give the aim and objectives of the experiment and suggest possible investigations the children could undertake using that particular experiment.
Most of the experiments are interactive, online activities with instructions given within them.
The data generated is sent to our databases and can be retrieved by the participant from a 'Get data' section of the website.
You can also request samples of data to compare with your own.
The Project was originally launched in 2003 with the support of the Department of Education, Specialist Schools Trust and the Association of Science Education, and worked in conjunction with the Centre for Effective Learning in Science at Nottingham Trent University. The website is now run from Plymouth University the current hosts of the RSSCSE (Royal Statistical Society Centre for Statistical Education).
